Where My Water Bill Payments Go
As the cost of water continues to rise, we thought it would be helpful to show customers what is billed and where your payment goes.
If you were to use 10,000 gallons of water, your total bill would be $99.27. Of that total:
$42.50 is the fee paid to the North Harris County Regional Water Authority (NHCRWA). The fee is currently $4.25 / 1,000 gallons
$4.25 is a surface water cost recovery fee charged by Champions MUD. This fee is 10% of the NHCRWA fee. This fee pays for unmetered water lost due to leaks.
$26.52 is the water fee charged by Champions MUD. This flat fee is charged for 10,000 gallons of use. A variable fee per thousand gallons is charged over 10,000 gallons of use.
$26.00 is the flat sewer fee charged by Champions MUD.
